Dr. Tanney's Retirement Letter

February 12, 2019

To All My Patients and Their Families:

I am writing to let you know that I have decided to retire! Yes, I know this is a big surprise.  My last day at The Pediatric Center will be May 17, 2019.  For the past 12 years I have been honored by your trust in me, and enormously entertained by your children.  While I’ve been involved in caring for your children, my own daughter has grown up (nearly 16 years old now). I feel like we’ve shared in the struggles and joys of parenting together.

I’m looking forward to having more time with my daughter, before she heads off to college in a couple of years, and more time and energy for reading, writing, singing, photography, gardening, dog training, and traveling.

I’m excited to announce that we have hired a wonderful pediatrician to take my place.  Dr. Heather Mittiga will be starting on May 20, 2019.  Dr. Mittiga attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and completed her pediatric training at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.  She has 15 years of experience as a pediatrician, with most of that time spent in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She was recently honored with a listing in Cincinnati Magazine’s 2019 List of Top Doctors.

Dr. Mittiga is married to a physician and has 5 young children so I think you will find her very knowledgeable and caring.  She is warm, funny, and very smart. I encourage you to continue on with her as your pediatrician.

I’m sure we’ll run into each other at various places around this lovely town of ours. I hope you’ll say hello and tell me about your children.  Thank you for so many great memories.

Sincerely,

Diana Tanney, MD
